HHPC OFFICER NOMINATION
Our church leadership comprises two distinct and separate roles, as is set forth in the Bible: Elders and Deacons. No one role is more important than the other, as each is called to perform different responsibilities within the church.
The Elders are concerned with the government and shepherding of the church and are held to the standard of character listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. The Deacons are concerned with the physical needs of the church and with her ministries of mercy. Deacons are held to the standard of character listed in 1 Timothy 3, and we see the institution of the office of Deacon in Acts 6. Each prospective officer should be an active male member of the church who meets the qualifications set forth in these Scriptures.
Only HHPC members may submit officer nominations. To nominate an individual for the office of Elder or Deacon, please fill out the form below by Sunday, May 26th. You may nominate more than one person per office, but please submit no more than three (3) total candidates.
I would like to nominate the following male member of Hilton Head Presbyterian Church (PCA) for the office of Elder or Deacon. I submit this form prayerfully and with an adequate acquaintance of the nominee. I also agree to inform the nominee of his nomination by me, understanding that he must be nominated by at least two “family units” and be approved by the Elders before officially becoming an officer nominee.
