Rev. Bill McCutchen, Lead Pastor
Bill has been married to Lisa for 25 years. They met at Forest Hill Church in Charlotte, NC, in 1991 and were married in June of 1992. The Lord has blessed them with three great sons: Will (23), Zach (22), and Matthew (18). They have lived in the Carolinas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Hawaii during their married life.
Bill attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 1996. Upon graduation he went to Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN, where he worked with the college and singles ministry for four years. After that he planted a church, All Saints Presbyterian, for Second in the Midtown area of Memphis. In 2003, the McCutchen family moved to Highlands, NC, where Bill was on staff at Community Bible Church, working with discipleship, marriages, and families. After two years, the Lord led them to Westminster Presbyterian in Rock Hill, SC, where Bill was part of the preaching team and worked with shepherding ministries.
Bill loves spending time with his family and being with his boys as much as possible. He likes to hunt and fish, and he tries to be as active as he can, playing golf, tennis, and trying to stay in shape.
Rev. Matt Scott, Worship & Community Life Pastor
Just a month before his college graduation, Matt and Kristen were married in Mobile, Al. Graduating from the University of Mobile with a dual major in Worship Leadership and Music Performance, their next adventure led them to Boston’s north shore. Matt attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and graduated in 2011 with a Masters of Divinity. He then served with Leadership Transformations, a para-church ministry helping pastors and leaders prioritize the care and nurture of their souls.
While Matt and Kristen lived in the Boston area, they launched The 2654 Project, their collective efforts of photography and music. In January of 2013, Matt released his most-recent album of repurposed hymns, titled Poets & Saints.
Matt enjoys running, carpentry, a good cup of coffee and collecting hymnals. He and Kristen have a silver Labrador named Stella and have one son, Emerson.
Rev. Tim Pitzer, Student and Families Pastor
Tim attended Clemson University where he met his wife, Stephanie. After serving as the Youth Director at Clemson Presbyterian Church, they moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend Reformed Theological Seminary. He has served as a pastoral intern at Cross Park Church and has worked for The Life Book Movement, an organization that trains youth pastors to mobilize their students to become missionaries in their public schools.
He enjoys cycling, coffee, and spending time with students. Stephanie enjoys graphic design, running, and using her artistic gifts to encourage others. Tim and Stephanie have two daughters: Ruthie Joy and Clara Grace.
Janice Magnin, Children’s Ministries Director
Janice and her husband, Eric, are both graduates of West Virginia University and were married in 1992. They started their lives together in Orlando, FL, where Janice did graduate studies at Rollins college and worked in Guest Relations for Walt Disney World. In 1998 Hilton Head Island became their new home! Janice joined Community Bible Study where she has studied God's Word for nearly 20 years and has served in leadership. She has a deep love for the Lord and for children!
Janice and Eric are blessed with five children and Janice homeschooled all the children for a portion of their education for the past 17 years. She currently serves as Coordinator of American Heritage Girls and enjoys arts and crafts, writing, and running.
Neely Langhals, Children's Ministry Volunteer Coordinator
Neely attended Columbia International University where she met her husband, Doug. She graduated with a double major in Bible and Youth Ministry. She and Doug were married in 2002 and moved to Hilton Head in 2004 for Doug to take a job at Hilton Head Christian Academy. Neely has worked as a Female Youth Leader at Cornerstone Presbyterian and Hilton Head Presbyterian. She also was a Sign Language Interpreter in the Beaufort County schools.
Ever since giving birth to her 5 children, Neely has enjoyed her most rewarding job of being a stay at home mom. With 4 now in school, she is loves being able to serve other moms by making sure their children are well cared for in our nursery and children’s ministry.
Neely enjoys running, summer breaks, family getaways to Lake Keowee and Clemson football.
Jeff Peters, Business Administrator
Jeff and his wife Becky met on a blind date in April of 1981 and were married in December of that year. They have two sons, Rob (living in St. Louis) and Gregg (living in Atlanta), and had the privilege of foster-parenting more than 70 kids over a fifteen-year period.
Jeff and Becky have lived on Hilton Head Island since 2008, moving from St. Louis. Most recently, Jeff and Becky spent two years in Haiti, working with a team to establish a medical clinic, education program, and a small business/economic development program.
With degrees in Zoology and Chemistry from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and having spent his career in the design and build of machinery for the printing, packaging and mailing industries, Jeff is excited to apply his past experiences to serve in the role as Business Administrator.
Robin Perkins, Administrative Assistant
Robin and her husband Rick are High School Sweethearts (meeting at 15 years old), and have two grown daughters and one son-in-law. Moving from Michigan to the LowCountry of South, Carolina, Robin enjoys spending her free time riding on the back of her husband’s Harley and strolling the shores of Hilton Head Island. After a full career in customer service, Human Resources, and a love for organization, she is excited to be serving as the Administrative Assistant at HHPC.
Henry Holmberg, EQUIP Summer Intern - Anchor Student Ministries
Henry is a rising sophomore at Anderson University in Anderson SC, majoring in accounting with a minor in Christian studies. He and his family have been members of HHPC for three years. He has been deeply involved in both the youth group and the worship team and is excited to continue his involvement on staff as an EQUIP Summer Intern.
Henry plans to attend Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte upon graduating and desires to work as a pastor in the church. As a familiar face to the youth program, Henry is excited to build upon existing relationships as well as forge new ones.
Molly Lewis, EQUIP Summer Intern - Anchor Student Ministries
Molly is a rising sophomore at Anderson University in Anderson, SC and is studying to be a high school English teacher. She and her family are members of HHPC and have been attending for four years. For as long as Molly has been with the church’s youth program, she has loved the community and ministry and is excited to spend the summer giving back the care and discipleship that was given to her.
Molly is always up for an adventure and loves writing and making music. She is a member of Reformed University Fellowship at Anderson and has a heart for connecting with people. She’s looking forward to serving as a resident advisor (RA) when she returns to Anderson in the fall.
Kara Shannon, EQUIP Summer Intern - Worship Team
Kara is originally from Rock Hill, SC where she graduated from Westminster Catawba Christian School in 2015. This is Kara’s second summer serving as an EQUIP Summer Intern with the HHPC Worship Team.
She is a rising senior at the College of Charleston and is majoring in theatre performance with a minor in business administration. As a student at CofC, Kara is involved in RUF, the student tour guide organization, and Phi Mu fraternity.
Kara’s heroes are her parents and her older sister. In her free time, she enjoys cities, coffee shops, songwriting, and spending time with friends and family.
